           Catfish statue previously was in the middle of the city of Bekasi. Catfish statue is between Railway Station, the largest mosque in Bekasi, Regional General Hospital also Bekasi Police Department. The statue was built in Regent tenure Moch. Djamhari around 1995 and will become the city’s trademark Bekasi. Apparently the good wishes of Regents is not necessarily good for the people. Most Bekasi people which one is Muchtadi Mochtar, feel Statue catfish and do not reflect the Bekasi people. According to their catfish is not a good symbol because catfish is a voracious beast and the price is cheap. Lute pieces is also a fruit that’s cheap. The point catfish and lute pieces do not reflect the Bekasi people. So Bekasi people do not agree with these catfish statue.

         Finally protest addressed to Mr. Nonon Sonthani, Mayor of Bekasi. By letter dated February 25, 2001 decision that catfish statue dismantled. Although existing demolition orders, the statue was not too disturbing dismantled. One of the people named Damin Sada and while it still existed as a village chief Sri Jaya, Tambun district, has other ideas. On Thursday 24 April 2002, Damin Sada came the Catfish Statue and burn it. Now catfish statue has turned into a large clock and a large buffer specifically for advertising space.

            Herman Willem Daendels is the name of a Governor General of Dutch who had ruled in our beloved earth between 1808 and 1811. Based on the history books, General Daendels known as a dictator who is very cruel, inhumane, and always oppressed the people for the benefit of the Dutch colonial government and private. Daendels tried to build a road between Anyer to Panarukan. According to some historical sources, this path through the lines to the Carita coast of Batavia, Caringin, penetrating Mount Pulosari, Jiput, Menes, Pandeglang, Lebak to Jasinga (Bogor).

          Deandels roading then do it in two stages, the first stage is the construction of roads to open shaft Batavia – Banten in 1808, at that time Daendels focuses its activities on the development of two ports in the north (Merak) and the south (Ujung Kulon). This path through the coastline of Batavia to Carita, Caringin, penetrating Mount Pulosari, Jiput, Menes, Pandeglang, Lebak to Jasinga (Bogor). The second phase began in 1809, From Anyer through Pandeglang to Serang (north) and Lebak (south). Of Serang, next to the Tangerang, Jakarta, Bogor, Puncak, Cianjur, Bandung, Sumedang, Cirebon to Panarukan, along the northern coast of Java. The road is called  the main road or protocol street.

           Jakarta has reached the age of 5 centuries. From a small town at the mouth of the Ciliwung River, Jakarta has now developed into a metropolis. No more swamp. There’s only skyscraper buildings. Jakarta is now at the age of 484 years has been renamed 13 times. Jakarta Provincial Government data mentioned, the forerunner of Jakarta is a city called Kalapa. But on June 22, 1527, which later became the ruler Fatahillah changed the name Sunda Kalapa  to Jayakarta. And subsequently established as the date of the birth of the city.

                Here are the names that had become the name for Jakarta:

  2. Dated June 22, 1527 by Fatahilah, was renamed Jayakarta
  3. Dated March 4, 1621 by the Dutch government for the first time form a city called Stad Batavia
  4. Dated 1 April 1905 changed its name to ‘Gemeente Batavia’
  5. Dated January 8, 1935 changed its name to Stad Gemeente Batavia
  6. Dated August 8, 1942 by Japanese renamed Jakarta Toko Betsu Shi
  7. In September 1945 the government of Jakarta City was named the National Government of Jakarta
  8. Dated February 20, 1950 during the Pre Federal Government changed its name to Stad Gemeente Batavia
  9. Dated March 24, 1950 was changed to Praj’a Jakarta City
  10. Dated January 18, 1958 in Jakarta standing as an autonomous region called Pradja Djakarta Raya City
  11. 1961 with the PP. 2 in connection with Act No. 1961. 2 PNPS 1961 formed government of Jakarta Raya
  12. Dated August 31, 1964 Jakarta Raya declared as the capital of the Republic of Indonesia as Jakarta.
